Ricardo Jerome, I applaud you for your comment. Competition supposed to push one another to do better, not to hate each other. We need to learn to appreciate good music whether it's played by zin, zenglen or djakout musik. Please, let's get out of the box. Remember this song? (Musician son sel kot fanmi) Yeah! Ti Manno. What a genius! Peace, love, learn to appreciate good things.
It's unfortunate that most Haitian don't think like you Ricardo. Most Haitian that I have come in contact with think one way (musically) that is if they like t-vice, then they can't stand Djakout Mizik or phantoms. You can certainly be a fan of a particular band, but appreciate good music whether is played by zin, zenglen, konpa kreyol etc. This mentality ha crippled Haitian music; fierce competition among Haitian artist and producers has prevented Konpa from reaching its potential. It's certainly ok to compete, but when you compete to hate or halt progress then you're destroying yourself and the industry. It's too bad that we have yet realized that.
I think T-vice is playing very good konpa, and I applaud them for their efforts. Right now I think Djakout Mizik and Zenglen are the best Haitian band both musically and lyrically. Djakout and zenglen are two of the most professional Haitian band, they always perform to their utmost ability and they respect the public. It's just my opinion.
It's really a tie between Robert Martino and Dadou Pasquet, both individuals have tremendous talent and they know the instrument very well. Personally, I like Dadou's style better.
well i am only 25 years old there are many things that i missed out while growing up listening to compa. actually i left haiti when i was 11 years old. at first i use to listening to strictly hip hop, and Reggae. by the time i graduated high school, i've started listening to haitian music. "Zin" is a big reason why i love compa so much. nowadays i can't stan hip hop and reggae, i listening to stricly haitian music, and i also developed a strong love and passion. i always buy a new CD every week. that latest live Cd music T-vice putted out was great, because of the Bad Boy was singing in Troubadou. my point is our culture's so great don't let it die. it is ok to be in competition with oneanother, but that doesn't mean to have total hatred towards oneanother. i like djakout music alot that doesn't mean if i seeT-vice with an outstanding album, that i am not going to acknowledge it and buy the album, you guys are my artistist my goal is to support you guys("include all haitian artists, T-vice, Djakout, mickey, Zin, Phantoms etc.."). you see that our countries biggest problem, acceptance, and acknowledgement. Haitian politics refused to deal with some having a whole different agenda than the ordinary. "my comparison" who has the top notch in guitar between Robert Martino and Dadou Pasquet. secondly between T-Vice and Djakout Which one's is playing the best Compa Right now.
