[spoiler] CaRiMi performed last nite (6/7/08) at Club Giggles in Hempstead, NY. The music was great but their was not enough light on the stage to actually see the band perform, the people running the show seemed very unprofessional and unorganized not to mention rude. The crowd turnout was a bunch of low budget gangster type Haitians with no class at all and the food they were selling was horrible; it tasted like it was 2 weeks old. The drinks were way over priced and the sound quality was not all that.
I have been to Club Giggles before both on a regular night and on a 'Haitian' night.. when Zin performed. Let me tell you a huge difference could be seen. The regular Giggles staff is always pleasant and add a friendly atmosphere to your night. The Club in general has a nice feel and ambiance, drinks are always reasonable, security is always tight, professional and on point. The night Zin performed was a excellent night, a classy crowd turnout, everything seem to run according to plan, the band was excellent with spotlights for the show to be seen as well as heard. You could tell hard work, promotion and teamwork went into making ZIN's appearance a memorable one.
Unfortunately, I can not say the same for CaRiMi's night. Looked like too many people trying to do their own thing and the night was a disaster.....
MY OPINION IS IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A GREAT NITE, 'KONPA SATURDAYS' @ CLUB GIGGLES IS NOT THE PLACE TO BE!!!! THESE PROMOTERS HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND THE NIGHT IS PRETTY GHETTO. BUT, BE ASSURED THAT ANY OTHER NIGHT AT CLUB GIGGLES WILL HAVE YOU SMILING FROM ENTRANCE TO EXIT. 'Konpa Saturdays' is NOT one of those nights, it was actually a waste of money.
