Haitian Ragga star, Balck Alex of King Posse, Shot Three times in Petion Ville.

click here Black Alex, a well-known Haitian Ragga artist, was shot in Petionville, a suburb of Port-Au-Prince, according to published reports. The incident took place on Saturday night, April 2, when he was hit with three bullets near the Petionville Cemetery, just a few miles from his residence on "Route Frere".


The artist, is a member of King Posse, one of Haiti's most prominent Hip Hop/Ragga Creole groups. Police reported that Black Alex's car had not been stolen, but his gold chain and wallet had been taken by the assailants.


Witnesses at the scene said Black Alex was near death when he was taken to a nearby hospital and had to be resuscitated. The 37-year-old singer had been shot under the chest, and through the heart. "Black Alex remains in critical but stable condition," according to reporter Roberto Dorneval from Signal FM Radio in Haiti.


Millions of mostly silent and worried fans are listening closely to radio reports for the latest news about Black Alex's health condition. Black Alex is one of the most recognized personalities in Haiti. Even though he has not had a hit in the last five years his popularity with the masses is at an all time high.
