I finally had a chance to buy konpa kreyol new cd. I have to say i was very disappointed. For all the hoop..la about this album, i was shocked konpa kreyol did such a lousy job. Don't get me wrong i love the bands music and its live performance. Konpa kreyol newest album sounds more like a first time band trying to find themselves. The lyrics on this cd are terrible. two song on the album shows flare of maturity, and then the rest is garbage. And what's the CD cover is all about again? What kind of message is konpa kreyol is trying to send to young Haitians fan who idolize this band? shame... shame

One thing partner, to get rid of the picture they posted would be agaisnt their views concerning Haiti. Second, no Kompa Creole is not looking for attention, specially not from Carimi. A point might i say well taking, Haitians these days fell to realize where they from, and how certain things were exceptable among us. Now a days any women that step out their house with a visible dress will be consider trashy, but you guys fell to understand that our background, our ancestors were always naked and still now women in Haiti still showing off their good like it was nothing. No wonder we didn't have that much rapist back home. We were so use to seeing boobies and their good that it was nothing. Now in America ( te pouri a)not so use to see women breast, they got so tempted everytime they see a litle girl stuff went on and rape them, moleste these beautiful virgin creatures. Anyways to get to my point, we (haitian) were never afraid to show and deal with the reality we were the sociable tribe because we always knew what to expect. What Kompa Creole is trying to do is have you and those that can't seems to get their views is to open your eyes and see what's happenning in Haiti right now.

I spent most of time in Haiti kote'm te fet la. If anyone spent more then 5 to 6 years pa ale Haiti you will never understand Kompa Creole.

I saw this topic and I had to reply...since when did Haitian people turn so freakin American? is this why after all these decades they got rid of the manchette from Neg Maron? now we are censoring what people see...one thing I always loved about my country it that people weren't kept hidden from reality like we are pampered here and caused to live under a blanket and ignorant...what's wrong with this album cover? if you are about censoring and what kind of message is being put out, then I suggest you do some homework and get your hands on some of the pictures coming out of our country everyday nowadays...when you see what is happening to our homeland then you can appreciate KK's good work on their album cover...man America has turned us into MTV Basket cases all of a sudden...

In all honest truth, I think you all derailed from the main issue here.

I can understand all points of view, however one needs to consider the bands underlying reasons for creating such a cover.

We can assume that like most artists, Konpa Kreyol used this cover for creative purposes or to show a reflection of the songs in the album.

We can even take Joe's view point into consideration. Maybe Konpa Kreyol used the cover to create controversy, and maybe it was used to make the general population of Haiti (including those overseas) to reflect on their past and future.

The point is there might be a million and one reasons why the band chose the cover; until we question them and take into account why they chose it, we can only speculate and bicker senselessly...............like we usually do!

Haiti is not that vast of a country where anyone should be fighting for attention from the fans. There are not that many popular bands out there that any band/fan need to worry about catching the interest of the public.

No matter what, you are going to like whomever you want, nothing is going to change that.

Therefore what is the big deal?

We are better than that, we are educated, from a desirable social background, lte's please act like it.

Remember sept 11.

Do we need something of that magnitude to happen(directly) to us, in our country, before we sit down and ponder/think on how trivial / small and utterly ridiculous all of this is.

I am not surprise to read your opinion towards the message that KKreyol is sending out to the world. I am concern about the message behind the cd cover not the lyrics. I do not hate, I am merely pointing out the image. It is funny when someone express concern it is considered “HATING”.

I saw the Cd cover and I listen to one of the song on konpa kreyol upcoming album. I think they're trying to be creative and reflexing the current situation in Haiti. it is not about copying tvice or carimi, you ogt that wrong. I just came from Haiti 2 days ago, if you were there you will be shocked. Almost everyone i know has an illegal gun in that country and there's no electricity at 7 PM. It's scary. I often wonder how people survive in such conditions. man, stop hating. konpa kreyol is ten time the band tvice is.
