Very funny but Here is something serious that all people of color should know and consider.

Are you aware of the building boom going on in Jersey City's Black communities?  New three family homes with many amenities are being built throughout the Black community on lots that were created when Urban Renewal demolished old housing stock and promised new housing but delivered nothing more than thirty years ago.  For the past three years, builders have been buying these empty lots and building beautiful new homes.  Many investors from outside of the community have begun buying these new homes and renting to tenants and we can do the same.

DID YOU KNOW THAT WE CAN BUY THESE HOMES WITH LITTLE OR NO MONEY DOWN, RENT OUT THE OTHER TWO APARTMENTS AND USE THE REVENUE TO PAY THE MORTGAGE???  Why pay someone else $1400 a month to rent a three bedroom, 2 bath apartment when you can own the building?

Black folks have rented substandard housing in Jersey City for decades and now that the inner city is being rebuilt we need to own, not rent, our neighborhoods.  So if you are looking to buy a home, please consider Jersey City, NJ before we are completely priced out.

Greetings,

On Sunday May 22, 2005 will hold the annual “HAITI’S FLAG DAY FESTIVAL” to celebrate the anniversary of the creation of Haiti’s flag.  This dazzling event has become a proud tradition in the Haitian community since its inception more than 15 years ago, as it continually draws thousands of revelers each year.

This fantastic community festival will take place on Nostrand Avenue, stretching several blocks between Beverly Rd. & Ave. D, from 10:30 am to 6:00 pm and will feature some of the best Haitian entertainers, including Kompa, as well as Raisin (Root Music) bands.  The R&B and Rap segment will feature some of the hottest Hip Hop and R &B groups in the community.

In addition, several programs will be on the agenda, among them dance contest, prizes as well as rides for children.  Our List of invited guest includes elected officials, business, media, as well as community leaders.

We also welcome contributions to cover our expenses for this special celebration. To make a contribution, or to be a sponsor for this blockbuster event, please contact Robin Gibson at (719) 951-3366 or Email us at haitiflagdayevents@yahoo.com

If there is one thing i hate about my fellow Haitians is their constant addiction to spreading rumors about famous people being Haitian. Like that's gonna change anything
